Agricultural University of Athens is the third Oldest University in Greece, which holds a dominant position upon the area of Geotechnical and Agri-food Higher Education and Research, at both national and international level. AUA is a prodigious Green University, as it is a key partner of the European University EU CONEXUS about Smart Urban Coastal Sustainability. It plays a principal role in significant participating Hubs, such as the Smart –AGROHUB, inasmuch the Network and Community Partners of the EIT Food Initiative, which is a Pan-European Consortium, focused upon entrepreneurship and innovation development in the food sector, by different partners across Europe. An International Joint Master Degree Program - Erasmus Mundus in Marine Biotechnology, besides the FL Master of Science (MSc) Program, entitled Digital Technologies and Smart Infrastructure in Agriculture, have been functioning since September 2022.

Tuition fees
The Tuition Fees for the International Joint Master Erasmus Mundus in "Marine Biotechnology", as the result of the fruitful partnership of the Department of Biotechnology and the Department of Animal Science, amount to 9.000€, addressed for non-EU citizens, whereas coming to 5.000€ related to citizens and permanent residents of EU, N. Macedonia, Serbia, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Turkey respectively.
The Tuition Fees for the FL Master of Science Program, entitled "Digital Technologies and Smart Infrastructure in Agriculture" of the Department of Natural Resources Development and Agricultural Engineering amount to 4.000€, addressed to non-EU citizens, while coming to 2.500€ for citizens and permanent residents of EU.
As far as the Departmental Master’s Degree Programmes of the Department of Crop Science are concerned, wherein AUA is the Οrganizer Institution, being responsible for all the competent administrative support and academic subjects, the tuition fees are fixed for both EU and non EU-citizens described, as follows:
1)MSc in “Landscape Architecture", is valued at 3900€.
2)MSc in “Top Sectors and Innovative Applications in Production and Preservation of Fruit, Vegetable and Floricultural Species”, is valued at 3000€.
3)MSc in “Integrated Plant Protection and Environmental Management Systems”, is estimated at 3000€.
4)MSc in “Innovative Applications in Sustainable Agriculture, Plant Breeding and Agrometeorology”, is estimated at 2650€.
5)MSc in “Plant-Rhizosphere-Soil: Integrated Crop Nutrition Management” costs 3800€.
The MSc in “Ecology and Management of the Environment” of the Department of Forestry and Natural Environment Management, which belongs to the School of Plant Sciences, alike the Department of Crop Science, comes up to 3000€.
As far as the Departmental Master’s Degree Programmes of the Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition are concerned, the tuition fees are fixed for both EU and non EU-citizens and valued, in particular, at 4000€, for each one of the following MSc Programmes:
1)MSc in “Food, Nutrition and Health“.
2) MSc in “Food Science and Technology”.
3) MSc in “Current Food Technology: I) Dairy Science & Technology, II) Oenology".
As far as the Departmental Master’s Degree Programmes of the Department of Natural Resources Development and Agricultural Engineering, inasmuch the Department of Biotechnology are concerned, the tuition fees are fixed for both EU and non EU-citizens, for each one of the following MSc Programmes:
1)MSc in “Natural Resources, Geoenvironment, Geoinformatics and Agricultural Engineering” is valued at 1800€.
2)MSc in “Systems Biology”costs 1500€.
In respect of the three (3) Interdepartmental Master’s Degree Programs, wherein the specific AUA Departments are responsible for all the competent administrative support and academic subjects, pursuant to Official Government Gazettes, the tuition fees are fixed for both EU and non EU-citizens, estimated, as follows:
1) IMSc in “MBA Food & Agribusiness” (between the Department of Agricultural Economics and Rural Development & the Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition), amounts to 6000€.
2) IMSc in “Integrated Production Management of Milk and Dairy Products” (between the Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition & the Department of Animal Science), amounts to 3500€.
3) IMSc in “Farm Business Management and Consulting in Rural Development” (between the Department of Agricultural Economics and Rural Development & the Department of Animal Science), amounts to 3800€.
Last, but not least, AUA has established four (4) Inter-Institutional Master’s Degree Programs (II-MSc), wherein AUA acts as a partner/participant, since all the administrative work is performed on the part of the other Greek Universities involved, as depicted below:
1. II-MSc “Cultivations under cover- Hydroponics”- online Programme- (between the Department of Crop Science AUA & the Hellenic Open University).
2. II-MSc “Viticulture-Oenology and Alcoholic Beverages” (between the Department of Crop Science AUA & the Department of Chemistry of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens).
3. II-MSc “Organic Synthesis and Applications in the Chemical Industry” (between the Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition AUA & the Department of Chemistry of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens).
4. II-MSc “Techno-economic Systems Management”- blended learning approaches, both inperson and distance learning- (between the Department of Agribusiness and Supply Chain Management AUA & the Department of Business Administration of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens).
Therefore, such tuition fees are set by the other Greek Universities engaged and not AUA.However, we are awaiting an answer on their part, following our exchange of correspondence, thus we shall inform you in due course.
Scholarships offered
As a whole, the AUA Department of the Directorate of Studies & Student Welfare deals with a wide range of scholarships offered to students by National and Global Foundations and Universities, Ministries, Embassies, European Programmes, in the form of bequests, donations, etc in addition to scholarships granted by the AUA Special Research Funds Account, such as business idea competitions run by the Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Technology Transfer Office (InnovInAgri).
Basic kinds of Scholarships:
Awards and Scholarships, as the result of the recognition of excellent effort, ethos and academic achievement, inasmuch financial support for students who excel under adverse conditions.
Awards and Scholarships awarded to students, according to their progress, in combination with their family and social status, their personal and family income statement.
Compensatory – Reward Scholarships awarded to Undergraduate and Postgraduate students with the commitment by the students to either work or participate in educational or research activities of the School or Department involved for up to forty hours per month. This kind of employment is governed by the labor and social legal provisions.
