The University of Florence’s foundation dates to a 1923 decree, which came into effect in the 1924-25 academic year. But Unifi’s origins are actually much older than this, dating back to the Studium Generale, commissioned by the Florentine Republic in 1321 and then transferred to Pisa by the Medici family.To mark this year centenary, the University has promoted a rich programme of events. Unifi is a founding member of EUniWell, the European University of wellbeing. It is a generalisti university where everything can be studied but vet. It has one BA and over 10 Master programmes totally in English plus many other individual courses. It has 33 double and joint degrees with top Universities in Europe and outside. It has over 500 agreements for students mobility and research in over 100 countries and finances also extre EU mobility with specific grants.
