Ionian University is the proud academic descendant of The Ionian Academy, the first Greek University established in modern times.
It was founded and operated in Corfu from 1824 to 1864 until the union of the Ionian Islands with the Greek state.
Ionian University was Founded in 1984, in the historic city of Corfu, a UNESCO World Heritage Site
